How many 'American Idol,' 'The Voice' contestants have come from Texas? See ranking

Texas has a large pool of musical talent.

In their 47 combined seasons, "American Idol" and "The Voice" have had plenty of contestants from the Lone Star State compete on the show. There have been several top "American Idol" contestants from Texas and three winning contestants on "The Voice."

Here’s a look at past contestants.

'The Voice' winners from Texas

In its 25 seasons, "The Voice" has had three winners from Texas. Here are the contestants: 

  • Danielle Bradbery — Bradbery, of Cypress, Texas, won Season 4 of "The Voice." She was only 16 during her blind auditions when she performed Taylor Swift's "Mean.” Her performance was enough to win over Blake Shelton who became her coach. She became the youngest contestant to win on The Voice. 
  • Sundance Head — Head, of Porter, Texas, won Season 11. He joined Blake Shelton’s team after his performance of "I've Been Loving You Too Long" by Otis Redding. 
  • Maelyn Jarmon — Jarmon, of Frisco, Texas, won season 16. For Jarmon's Blind Audition, she sang "Field of Gold" by Sting and joined John Legend's team.

What states produce the most top three singing competition finalists?

According to Mr. Rooter’s list of “U.S. states with the best pipes,” the plumbing company decided to highlight the best singing pipes. Texas tops the list for most top three finalists on "The Voice" and "American Idol" with a total of 12. Texas is the only state to reach double digits for the top three finalists.

According to The Futon Criticthe "American Idol" season 22 finale will air on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

According to Screen Rant, this will be Katy Perry's final season on the show. Perry has been a judge on the show for seven seasons.
